THE DIAMOND PAGE — Diamondiferous dykes found at Afridi

Drilling suggests that the DA-1 target at the Afridi Lake property in the Northwest Territories consists of a series of steeply dipping, northwest-trending kimberlite dykes.

The largest dyke has a maximum width of 15-20 metres at surface, increasing to about 40 metres at an 80-metre depth. From the 127 kg of drill sample processed to date, 1 macrodiamond and 4 microdiamonds have been recovered by caustic fusion methods.

Cypango Ventures (CAV-V) can earn a 51% interest in the 129,951-acre Afridi Lake property from 90% owner Intertech Minerals (IML-V) by paying all exploration costs leading up to, and including, a 100-tonne bulk sample.

The DA-1 kimberlite is one of three intrusions discovered by a spring drilling program, which tested a cluster of four targets defined by geophysics and indicator minerals.

The DA-2 and DA-3 intrusions were each drilled with two holes, but Cypango and Intertech say further drilling is necessary to determine the size and shape of each structure, as well as the relationship of the three closely spaced intrusions to each other at depth.

The processing to date of a 26-kg sample from the DA-2 intrusion yielded 1 macro and 5 micros, while a 45-kg sample from DA-3 returned 3 macros and 9 micros. An additional 300 kg of kimberlite sample from the intrusions is being analyzed.

A field program of detailed till sampling and airborne geophysics is expected to commence in mid-July.
