Sunridge selects Wardrop for scoping study

British Columbia-based junior Sunridge Gold (SGC-V, SGCNF-O) has contracted Wardrop Engineering to prepare a scoping study of the company’s Emba Derho project, in Eritrea.

The study will examine development potential at the zinc-copper-gold-silver project and will include a resource update, open-pit and processing plant design, and capital and operating cost estimates.

Wardrop will also determine the optimum mining rate, review metallurgical studies, establish manpower and equipment needs and provide financial modelling and risk analysis.

Wardrop is slated to present a final report to Sunridge by late August.

The study will focus on Emba Derho but will also consider the potential to extract resources from the nearby Adi Nefas and Gupo gold deposits.

Founded in Winnipeg in 1955, Wardrop has been active in the mining industry for over 40 years.

Stingray builds team to conduct El Pilar feasibility

Stingray Copper (SRY-T, SRYYF-O) has launched a feasibility study for its El Pilar copper project in Mexico, enlisting a stable of consultancy firms to prepare the report.

Tucson, Ariz.-based IMC International will review, audit and prepare a resource calculation followed by ore reserve studies including a mine-pit design and mining schedule.

Golder Associates, which has worked on several projects in Mexico, will prepare the geotechnical and slope stability studies for El Pilar. The potential environmental impact of the project will be examined by Hermosillo, Mexico-based environmental consultant Patricia Aguayo Hurtado, who will also prepare the company’s applications for environmental permitting.

Investigacion y Desarollo de Acuiferos y Ambiente(IDEAS) will complete a hydrological review for the project and look at the viability of the Santa Cruz basin as a source of water.

Tucson-based Metcon Research will conduct the metallurgical program, which is already operational, with column leach testing ongoing throughout the year.

“We welcome all our new partners and anticipate their timely contributions to the ongoing assessment of El Pilar,” said CEO and chairman of Stingray, Peter Mordaunt, in a statement.
