Suntac resumes drill at Polaris Taku

Last fall Suntac carried out an 8-hole drill program and several of the previously reported assays from the first seven holes include: 21 ft of 0.472 oz gold including 12 ft of 0.65 oz; 9 ft of 0.41 oz; and 10.3 ft of 0.57 oz gold. (N.M., Dec 19/88).

The latest assay results are from the eight holes which encountered two significant intersections of 11 ft grading 0.510 oz gold and 9.0 ft of 0.455 oz.

Suntac said the series of holes drilled in the fall program, together with a series drilled by the previous operator, indicates an extension of an existing reserve block with a significant increase in the strike length of the Y vein system. These areas are accessible from the old mine workings but outside the calculated ore reserve of 250,000 tons grading 0.33 oz gold per ton.

The 1989 drill program will continue to test areas outside the existing block with the intention of adding to ore reserves. Drilling equipment is already on site and equipment is being transported to be used in road construction and portal rehabilitation.
