Stroud extends strike

Drilling has increased the strike length of the mineralized zone on the Leckie property, held by partners Stroud Resources and Exador Resources. Exador has the right to earn a 30% interest in the project by spending $1 million on exploration. The claims are located near Temagami, Ont.

A 20,000-ft drill program completed late last year, extended the main zone to 700 ft along strike from 400 ft. Gold mineralization has been encountered to a depth of 800 ft. Following the completion of the 1988 program, the partners will consider an underground exploration program.

Some of the better results from the 1987 drill program include 3.9 ft grading 0.257 oz, 12.7 ft assaying 0.16 oz, 4.4 ft grading 0.217 oz and 5.8 ft grading 0.225 oz gold per ton. Another hole intersected 21 ft grading 0.2 oz. The best grade came from a 4.1-ft section which assayed 0.795 oz.
