Another gold mineralized zone has been intersected by drilling on the Hislop property owned by Chevron Resources and Stroud Resources (TSE). Located near Timmins, Ont., the Hislop property protects a stratigraphic suite of rocks striking from the producing Ross gold mine to the east.
Drilling by Chevron on a target 2,100 ft northeast of the known mineralized zones on the property, has led to the discovery of the V2 zone. Drilling has traced the zone for 1,300 ft along strike. At least a third of the holes drilled yielded visible gold Stroud says.
Some of the better sections include 5 ft grading 0.392 oz gold and 6.7 ft assaying 0.257 oz per ton in hole 227. Holes 228 and 229 intersected 5 ft grading 0.218 oz and 0.308 oz per ton across 5 ft respec tively.
