Soocana completes exploration at Wawa

A follow-up exploration program is being planned by Soocana Explorations (COATS) for the company’s Blacksmith and Murray Algoma gold properties located 11 miles northeast of Wawa, Ont.

The work returned several encouraging drill intersections from a shear zone on the Blacksmith property. Exposed by stripping for 1,200 ft, the zone ranges in width from 3 ft to 10 ft. The best section drilled was 8.2 ft grading 0.312 oz gold per ton.

At the Murray Algoma showings, a small block of high grading mineralization has been defined, Soocana says. The best drill results include 4 ft grading 0.619 oz gold and a 6-ft section which assayed 0.436 oz gold per ton.

Soocana has sufficient funds to begin a program designed to test the Blacksmith shear zone downdip and along strike towards the west. Additional financing is also being sought.
