SMDC strike at Hanson Lake

Economic grades of copper and zinc with associated silver, have been intersected by drilling on the Hanson Lake property, operated by Saskatchewan Mining Development Corp. Located in eastern Saskatchewan, 65 km west of Flin Flon, Man., the Hanson Lake property is shared with partners Esso Minerals (24.5%) and Tri Gold Industries (VSE) holding 24.5%.

Results from seven of the planned 12-hole program include 17 ft assaying 8.9% zinc, 0.1% copper with marginal silver. Another 7.2-ft section graded 8.1% zinc and 1.6% copper.

Hole 13 intersected 20 ft grading 2.5% copper and 5% zinc. Silver assayed 0.97 oz per ton. “We rate this as a significant find,” Jan Bloemraad, manager of exploration at SMDC, told The Northern Miner. “This is a Trout Lake type of deposit,” he explained. Trout Lake is a copper-zinc-gold-silver mine located near Flin Flon which has been in operation since 1982.
