Roycefield advances Beaver Brook

With the mining lease now secure, Roycefield Resources (RYC-T) is well on its way to bringing the Beaver Brook antimony property into production. The company hopes to start production during the middle of 1997.

The site designated for the mill has been completely cleared and the cement foundation is being poured. The company has awarded a contract for the purchase of the mill building, and erection of the metal structure will begin as soon as the foundation work is completed. Also, most of the concentrator equipment is being readied and checked for shipment to the site.

Transportation of equipment to and from the site will be made easier with the completion of a 43-km access road from the Trans-Canada Highway. Construction of the powerline to the site is expected to be completed by March 1997. The tailings pond dyke is already in place.

The Beaver Brook property, situated in central Newfoundland, is wholly owned by Roycefield. At last report, the deposit contained a drill-indicated resource of 1.2 million tonnes grading 4.29% antimony. This total is undiluted, with a cutoff grade of 1.5%, and includes probable reserves of 898,000 tonnes grading 3.7%.
