Rio grants Chachacomiri extension to Cominco Ltd.

Owing to a delay in drilling at the Chachacomiri property in Bolivia, Rio Amarillo Mining (VSE) has given Cominco (TSE) a 2-month extension on a US$400,000 option payment previously due at the end of June.

Cominco can earn a 60% interest in the property and recently completed a drilling program. The extension will allow Cominco time to complete assaying and analyze drill results.

Results to date indicate that there is an extensive, low-grade zone of mineralization in the Agua Dolce volcanics, within the Cerro Chacha area which also carries significant tin values.

Tin values in the first seven holes graded up to 0.22% over 102 metres (hole 5), while one of the better lead-zinc-silver values included an 86-metre interval in hole 7 grading 0.2% lead, 0.36% zinc and 16.1 grams silver per tonne.
