Queries Exchange is unable to trace Noranda Gold

I recently invested in Noranda Gold Resources through Crown Securities of Costa Rica. I was wondering if you could provide me with information concerning the quality of Noranda Gold and the efficiency of Crown Securities. H.B., Oswego, N.Y.

We are sorry to have to tell you this, but after placing a number of calls to the Securities Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., and the Colorado School of Mines in Denver, we were unable to trace this company.

It is possible that Noranda Gold Resources exists but it appears unlikely. Officials at Noranda Inc. (TSE), the well known Canadian resource giant, had never heard of Noranda Gold Resources and neither had Ian Park, President of Toronto-based Greenstone Resources (VSE).

Greenstone is active in Costa Rica but Park told The Northern Miner that he was unaware of any activities or projects involving Noranda Gold Resources.

Dr John Yrar, a Professor at the Colorado School of Mines consulted a manual listing engineering and mining companies operating in North America but he was unable to find any reference to Noranda Gold.

We may be proved wrong in this case, but if in future you are contemplating investing in any mining company it would be a wise move to check the company’s record and whereabouts before doing so.
