Public participation funding awarded

The federal government will provide $61,600 worth of assistance under the Participant Funding Program, to help individuals and groups participate in the environmental assessment review of the decommissioning of uranium mine tailings areas in Elliot Lake, Ont.

The program belongs to the Federal Environmental Assessment Review Office and is administered in conjunction with the federal Environmental Assessment and Review Process.

The funding will help recipients review environmental impact statements and participate in public hearings.
