More encouraging drilling results have been announced from the B zone of the Eastmain gold project in northern Quebec by partners Placer Dome (TSE) and MSV Resources (ME).
The current drilling is a continuation of the program started this past winter but which was interrupted by the spring breakup. Preliminary results from some of the 22 holes drilled in June follow:
Width Grade Hole (ft) (oz/t) 332-062 7.87 0.71 332-064 20.4 0.4 332-066 7.02 0.19 332-068 4.4 0.4
Ten holes are being drilled during July. MSV President Mario Caron says the results continue to confirm the higher grade of the B zone. (Caron was elected president following this year’s annual meeting. Former president Guy Charette is now chairman of MSV.)
A final feasibility study currently under way on the Eastmain project is expected to be completed in September.
