Encouraged by initial drill results, Calgary-based Parklane Technologies plans a bulk sampling test at its Hillsborough gold prospect near Beardmore in northern Ontario.
Parklane has an option to earn a 51% interest in the property by spending $550,000 by February, 1989. At this time, Anglo Canadian Mining retains a 49% working interest, Cassidy Resources gets 15% net profit interest and Coniagas Mines gets 5% net smelter return on the property.
Four holes drilled in 1987 traced the No 2 vein along a strike length of 200 ft with widths averaging 5 ft. The zone remains open along strike and depth. In one hole a 3.8-ft intersection averaged 2.12 oz gold per ton while another hole gave 3 ft of 1.58 oz. Results are awaited on five additional holes drilled this year.
Three 200-lb bulk samples submitted for metallurgical testing confirmed a high level of free gold in the zone. Recoveries averaged 95%, Ronald Stokes, Anglo Canadian director, reports. A larger (500- to 1,000-ton) bulk sample will be processed at the Ateba mill in Beardmore in late February.
Depending on results, Parklane is considering up to 15,000 ft of additional drilling in 1988.
