Orco to drill three properties

Quebec junior Orco Exploration (ME) has announced that it will commence drilling on three properties in the Rouyn-Noranda area of Quebec within the next few weeks.

The first program will be undertaken on the Aiguebelle gold property which covers 15 miles of strike length along the Porcupine-Destor fault zone. This project is a joint venture of Orco with 30%, Minnova (TSE) with 40% and Cameco (TSE) with 30%. Work to date has outlined about 240,000 tons grading 0.24 oz. gold per ton in the Fayolle zone.

A drill program will also be conducted on the adjoining Kino Est property where samples of sheared and altered ultramafics have returned assays up to 0.19 oz. gold.

On Minnova’s New Vauze base metal property, Orco is funding a 10,000-ft. drill program in order to earn a 20% interest.

The New Vauze property contains both the Norbec and Ansil geological horizons which host most of the base metal deposits in the Noranda camp. The first target to be tested will be the Ansil mine horizon where previous drilling by Minnova intersected mineralized tuffs at a depth of about 3,500 ft.
