Registrations are being accepted for the 17th annual Mines and Mineral Symposium of the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM) scheduled for Dec. 5-8 in the Macdonald Block at Queen’s Park, Toronto.
A Monday afternoon discussion on the geology of Hemlo, sponsored by the Toronto Geological Discussion Group, MITEC and MNDM, will open the symposium. That evening, there will be a public presentation on “diamonds in Ontario.” The annual Geoscience Research Seminar is set for Tuesday morning and all day Wednesday. The Mineral Development Forum is slated for Tuesday afternoon. A Prospectors’ Core Shack will be featured Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, the ministry will offer a short course on magnetic nickel-copper-platinum group metal deposits. The fee for the short course is $150. Also, a day-long workshop on “mineral potential evaluation” will be offered Thursday.
