Project partners Consolidated Oasis Resources (ME) and Soquem have struck gold at the Fancamp property near Chibougamau, Que.
A 4.5-metre (15 ft.) intersection from Hole 23 cut 18.73 grams gold per tonne (0.55 oz. per ton) at a depth of 50.1-54.6 metres (164-179 ft.). Cut to 34 grams (1 oz.), the intercept assayed 16.41 grams (0.48 oz.). Oasis, which is earning a half interest in the property from Soquem, the Quebec Crown exploration company, has drilled six holes on a wide alteration and deformation zone hosing quartz veins. The zone had been drilled previously.
All holes returned gold values. Other results included a 2-metre (6.5-ft.) intersection averaging 3.84 grams (0.11 oz.) from Hole 21 and a 0.8-metre (2.5-ft.) intersection of 7.17 grams (0.21 oz.) from Hole 22. The structure, known as Nouvel, has been defined by an induced polarization anomaly along a strike length of 2 km. Drilling continues.
