Nuclear engery and global warming

Uranium and Nuclear Energy 1991, proceedings of the 16th International Symposium held by the Uranium Institute. 12/F. Bowater House, 68 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LT, United Kingdom.

Last year, 400 delegates from 25 countries attended the Uranium Institute’s annual symposium to discuss issues pertaining to the industry’s prospects. The topics ranged from global warming to nuclear fuel recycling, waste management and nuclear safety in Eastern Europe. This book compiles the delegates’ articles.

The papers show that East Asia is vigorously investing in

nuclear plants while the industry is facing difficulties in Europe, notes Alistair Frame, chairman of the institute. “In Canada there are mixed signals, but there is evidence of progress in the U.S.”
