Noranda Resumes Drilling of Pacquet Project

A renewed program of diamond drilling is under way on the Pacquet project in the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland. The project is a 50/50 joint venture between Noranda Exploration and Prime Capital company, International Impala Resources (VSE).

Recent assays from drilling on the Gabbro East zone of the Stog’er Tight showing include: 90.9 ft of 0.126 oz gold per ton including 26.6 ft of 0.2 oz gold and 14.8 ft of 0.348 oz gold. Another hole intersected 9.8 ft of 0.254 oz gold, including 6.5 ft of 0.365 oz gold.

Present drilling is part of a $250,000 program operated by Noranda which is continuing to define the extent of the Gabbro East zone. The zone is in albitized gabbro and to date has been traced by trenching and drilling over a strike length of 1,500 ft, and to a depth of 250 ft down the plane of the mineralization.

The Pacquet project includes the Pacquet Harbour group of 108 claims and the Bradley Option group of 26 claims which combined cover an area of some 5,300 acres.
