The drilling is designed to provide a geological cross-section of the volcanic and sedimentary rocks underlying the property and to test a geophysical target, Glimmer said.
The 13-claim property straddles the Destor/Porcupine fault system as well as other regional structures. Noranda can earn a 60% interest in the property by spending $250,000 over the next three years.
Glimmer and a private company called Birimian Goldfields say they are also continuing to seek gold properties in Ghana, West Africa through a wholly-owned Ghanaian subsidiary known as Eburnian Resources. That company recently hired a full-time Ghanaian geologist.
