NEWS ROUNDUP — Drilling planned for San Bernardino

An initial 2,800-metre drilling program is planned at the San Bernardino gold prospect in Bolivia for October.

Orvana Minerals (TSE), which has a 35% interest in the project, said the drilling will test the open-pit potential of a gold zone sampled from underground earlier this year.

The zone measures about 400×1,000 metres in plan and has a vertical extent of at least 300 metres.

Underground sampling includes intervals of 22 metres grading 3.25 grams gold per tonne, 18 metres grading 3.02 grams, and 55 metres grading 2.54 grams. The program will include three fences of holes to test the upper 150-200 metres of the zone.

In recognition of the late Robert Pederson’s contribution to the discovery, the San Bernardino project will now be known as the Pederson project.
