NEWS IN BRIEF (September 30, 1991)

Marshall Minerals (ASE) announced a normal course issuer bid to acquire about 1.4 million of its outstanding shares through the open market to Sept. 15, 1992. The company has almost 27 million shares outstanding.


Laurentian University’s School of Engineering introduces a program that includes eight terms of study on campus alternating with five 4-month terms of practical training.


Huron Star Resources Ltd. (HUR:ASE) has changed its transfer agency. The new agency is Equity Transfer Services Inc.


A total of $600,000 has been budgeted by Sudbury Contact Mines (TSE) for 1991 exploration work, the company noted in a quarterly report. Surface exploration work and drilling are planned for the Diamond Lake and Wendigo property areas in the Larder Lake area of Ontario.


Asiatel Media Corp. (ASD: VSE) has changed its name to Consolidated Asia Resources Ltd. (CTD:VSE) with a con-solidation of capital on a 1-new-for-5-old-share basis. Transfer agent is Montreal Trust Co.
