Nevada Goldfields shuts mine due to low reserves, grade

A joint venture partner is being sought who would conduct exploration on the property. The Kingston mine produced 25,131 oz of gold for the fiscal year ended June 30. In total, the company produced 38,880 oz of gold.

Additional gold production came from the Aurora mine which yielded 13,749 oz. A profitable operation, sufficient reserves have been outlined at the Aurora project for mining in 1989 and 1990.

The company is also investigating the possibility of trucking ore from the Manhattan project, 50 miles south of the Kingston mine and mill. Metallurgical testing completed on rock from the Manhattan deposit showed that the material can be treated by the Kingston mill.
