Minnova earned a 51% interest in the claims after spending $480,000 on exploration over the past three years. HSK retains a 49% interest. Work by Minnova identified several geological targets displaying the potential for hosting base metals mineralization.
In 1986, a 9-hole drill program tested a volcanic unit with anomalous zinc values ranging up to 0.25% per ton in grab samples. Last year, a drill hole cut 5.7 m grading 0.76% copper, 2.17% zinc and 8 g silver per ton. A follow-up drill program is scheduled to begin this spring.
