Minnova drills Thunderwood bet

A $220,000 exploration program consisting of 9,700 ft. of drilling and down-the-hole surveys is under way on Thunderwood Resources’ (TSE) 35% owned Delbridge and Donalda properties near Rouyn-Noranda, Que.

Minnova (TSE), as operator, will test a gold-rich, volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit similar to the past-

producing Delbridge and D’Eldona deposits on the property. The drilling will follow up previous intersections of stringer mineralization within a sequence of altered andesitic to rhyolitic rocks.

Several thousand tons of massive sulphide, rich in zinc and precious metals, have been extracted from the Delbridge property shared by Minnova (39%), Thunderwood (35%), Falconbridge (13.3%) and Western D’Eldona (12.7%). The adjoining Donalda property, where Minnova and Thunderwood participate in a 35-65% joint venture, hosts a gold deposit with uncut reserves of 727,000 tons grading 0.26 oz. gold per ton.
