MINING IN MEXICO — PROJECT ROUNDUP — Bishop prepares field

Toronto-based junior Bishop Resources International Exploration (CDN) is planning a fall exploration program on its Guadalupe gold project 160 km southeast of Hermosillo in the Mexican state of Sonora.

The program is a ground followup to airborne geophysical surveys completed earlier this year. The company is currently mining and processing surficial material from a number of small high-grade gold showings.

Bishop spokesman Merv Webb said the company’s aim is to process about 240 tonnes per day and generate cash flow for further exploration. Although low-grade gold values are present in soils across the property, this is not necessarily a reflection of bedrock mineralization, the company’s consulting geologist, William Pearson, said.

Bishop also has four other Mexican holdings: a copper porphyry project, a copper-gold project and two silver properties.
