MINING IN MEXICO — Morgain increases copper reserves

Additional reserves have been delineated at the Cuatro Hermanos copper-molybdenum porphyry deposit in the Mexican state of Sonora, Morgain Minerals (VSE) reports.

A 4,500-ft. percussion drill program was successful in outlining additional reserves in two sulphide and two oxide zones. These new zones are peripheral to the Main zone, which has reserves of 212 million tons grading 0.5% copper equivalent.

At the Sulphate zone, 1,800 ft. north of the Main zone, five holes outlined 2.1 million tons of sulphide material grading 0.48% copper equivalent. All holes ended in mineralization and the zone is open in all directions. Eighteen holes at the Cactus zone, about 4,000 ft. northeast of the Main zone, delineated sulphide reserves of 8.7 million tons grading 0.6% copper equivalent. This zone also contains oxide reserves of 2.1 million tons averaging 0.48% copper.

Additional oxide reserves of 800,000 tons grading 0.5% copper were outlined at the South Conglomerate zone, which is about 3,000 ft. south of the Main zone.

Based on these drill results, Morgain is now considering a followup program to prove up additional oxide ore which would be amenable to processing by solvent extraction-electrowinning.
