The 16th annual Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium will be held Dec. 14 and 15 in the Macdonald Block at Queen’s Park, Toronto.
Hosted by the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, the symposium highlights exploration and development opportunities. Geoscience investigations by the ministry are outlined, as are research projects funded under grant programs and the Northern Ontario Development Agreement. As well, the symposium highlights private-sector projects assisted by the Ontario Mineral Incentive Program and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
The symposium consists of a half-day Mineral Development Forum and a day-and-a-half seminar on geoscience research, hosted by the Ontario Geological Survey (OGS). This year’s geological discussions will focus on the Abitibi greenstone belt.
