In reference to your article on the Nexus Group (N.M., Oct 26/87), you have made a critical error. You refer to the “… Nexus/Angle Debbie property… ” and in the next paragraph state that Westmin, the operator, can earn a 50% interest in the Debbie property.
This is an error and a slight to the hard work and insight of the Westmin exploration crew that recognized the potential of the Debbie area in the 1970s and staked the property in May, 1979. Westmin performed a considerable amount of exploration on the property prior to establishment of the joint venture which would permit Nexus/ Angle to earn a 50% interest by providing exploration funds. ** Ligneris in Nova Scotia **
Ligneris Exploration has acquired a gold property in Nova Scotia. Known as the Cow Bay property, the claims were the site of a modest mining operation in the early 1900s. During that period, three shallow shafts were completed from which 1.4 tonnes of rock grading 0.88 oz gold per tonne, was mined.
An exploration program is expected to begin before year-end, Ligneris says. Work will test the property below depths of 150 ft. Work by previous operators was above this depth.
