Letters to the Editor Scepticism on Mt. Milligan unwarranted

The facts are that the Mt. Milligan project is a recent, world class porphyry gold-copper discovery with current drill indicated reserves in excess of 100,000,000 tons at an average grade of 0.025 ounces gold per ton and 0.3% copper. These reserves have a stripping ratio of less than 1:1 and are based on 69,000 feet of drilling in 112 NQ holes with hole spacings about 100 metres apart. On-going wide spaced drilling is continuing to expand on these reserves.

Considerable independent metallurgical testwork clearly shows that above industry average recoveries for gold and copper can be reasonably expected. Major open pit operations with recovery levels similar to Mt. Milligan include: Brenda (90%), Afton (85%), Valley Copper (89%) and Battle Mountain (96%).

The project is very well located with regards to environment, people, power and transportation. The joint venture will start a full feasibility study when the Mt. Milligan deposits are fully delineated. Continental Gold Corp. as project operator, plans to have the property into production by late 1992.

We will forgive you for your misinformation this time, as you are probably not aware of how rapidly this project is developing, but please do us a favor. Next time check out the facts. We are always available. The mining industry expects The Northern Miner to present the facts. Robert A. Dickinson President Continental Gold Corp. Vancouver, B.C.
