LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Is this the same George Miller?

As a regular reader of The Northern Miner, I often read articles submitted by a George Miller, the president of the Mining Association of Canada. Could he be the same George Miller who at one time was a bureaucrat in the Trudeau government and on whose recommendation the government gave $350 million during the early 1980s to Chile and Peru to aid in the development of their copper mining industry?

At that time because of low copper prices, copper mines in Canada were being shut down in droves. Thousands of copper miners literally found themselves unemployed and riding the rails. Robin Gibson Winnipeg, Man.
