Letters to the Editor Flew with Fecteau

I enjoyed the article on Arthur Fecteau in the Feb 1 issue of The Northern Miner. It was accurate and revealing.

I flew extensively with various air transport companies out of Rouyn, Senneterre and the Oskeleano River in Quebec, since the 1930s. I also flew many times with Fecteau. On March 3, 1949, in the first de Havilland Twin Otter ever used in Canada, I flew with three prospectors from Senneterre, with Fecteau as pilot, to Duncan Lake. This is what was later the Duncan Range ore deposits and the James Bay Development Corp.

Fecteau came and picked us up about 20 days later, after we had staked and surveyed magnetically, the Duncan Range.

I believe I know or knew virtually all the bush pilots in Canada, going back to about 1928. J. C. Honsberger Agincourt, Ont.
