Letter to the Editor VSE computerized trading

We refer to your June 13 issue on Junior Mining, and the article “VSE: Top Junior Resource Market Still Setting Records.”

We were pleased to have the opportunity to bring your readers up-to-date on the VSE’s role and current successes in this area, but regret that some unusual editing by your staff resulted in a key section of our submission being left out, causing the piece to be confusing and unclear at the end.

The deleted section in question was a brief description of Vancouver Computerized Trading which was launched on May 26.

Although the June 13 issue did go on to include a paragraph on the system’s advantages, it unfortunately left out the fact in the first place that we had introduced such a system.

In fact, VCT, dubbed “The Matchmaker,” has worked extremely well since its launch, averaging half a million shares a day on the 25 stocks, with no major system or user problems evident.

This state-of-the-art system puts “Canada’s Mining Exchange” in the forefront of securities technology in the world.

We trust that this provides your readers with a more complete picture of our efforts in the area of computerization. C. Joyce Courtney Director, Public Relations Vancouver Stock Exchange
