LATIN AMERICA SPECIAL — Finnish mining company uncovers new

Finnish mining company Outokumpu reports the uncovering of a new copper deposit in Chile near the town of Vallenar.

The Relincho project is estimated to contain 130 million tonnes grading 0.8% copper, with silver and molybdenum credits.

Meanwhile, the company’s Santa Catalina copper project in northern Chile, where reserves are estimated to total 109 million tonnes averaging 0.7% copper and 0.1% molybdenum, continues to undergo a prefeasibility study.
