Two exploration programs have been completed by Vauquelin Mines (ME) on the company’s wholly owned Fourax and 85% owned Bloc-Ouest/Nordeau properties.
A $70,000 drill program totaling more than 2,300 ft. was completed on Fourax’s property in Fourniere Twp., Que. The drilling was done to test the extension of gold-bearing lenses of the Western Porphyry zone. A total of seven intersections were reported with values ranging between 0.12 and 0.53 oz. gold per ton over intervals between 5 and 36.3 ft.
The Fourax property hosts reserves in the possible category of 422,902 tons averaging 0.20 oz.
The company also completed an $80,000 program consisting of over 1,800 ft. of drilling on the Bloc-Ouest/Nordeau property in Vauquelin Twp., Que. The five holes completed intersected mineralization 1 mile east of known mineralization. Best results were 0.14 oz. gold over 4.4 ft. and 0.09 oz. gold over 1.5 ft.
The property hosts possible and probable reserves totalling 689,259 tons averaging 0.17 oz.
