INSIDER TRADING Horsham director sells voting stock

Although Ian Delaney was recently appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Sherritt Gordon (TSE), he retains a substantial voting interest on the board of Toronto-based Horsham (TSE). In addition to a 22% stake in American Barrick Resources (TSE), Horsham also controls private U.S. company Clark Oil.

While the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulletin shows that Delaney recently sold 2.3 million Horsham subordinated voting shares at $10.46 each, he still holds just over two million voting shares.

According to the OSC Bulletin, Samuel Goldstein, a director with Horsham affiliate Apex Oil, also sold 1.02 million subordinated voting shares for $9.50-9.62 to hold 766,699.

Other mining insiders who were active in the stock market recently include:

Aur Resources (TSE) Vice- President Don Bubar, who sold 10,000 shares for $4.48-4.65 to hold 36,708.

Audrey Resources (TSE) director Real Lafleur exercised an option to purchase 10,000 shares for $1.70 before selling 7,000 for $3.40-3.70 to hold 4,000.

Breakwater Resources (TSE) director David De Witt exercised an option to buy 5,000 shares for $1.32 before selling them at $1.62. He also exercised an option on 10,000 shares at $1.32 before selling them at $1.69 to close out his holdings.

Societe Miniere Louvem (TSE) affiliate Noranda (TSE) bought 400,000 shares for $10.50 to hold 4.1 million.

Noranda (TSE) director (of affiliate) Michael McSorley bought 15,000 shares under a plan for $16.57 to hold 15,450.

Teck (TSE) Vice-President Richard Drozd exercised an option to buy 5,000 shares for $16.125 before selling them at $27.875 to hold none.
