A gift from Inco Ltd. went to Brian Scholz, a third-year geological and mineral engineering student at the University of Toronto.
Inco Chairman Michael Sopko has agreed to pay $1,400 for Scholz’s air ticket to Japan so that he can begin his year-long internship at a gold mine in September.
The gold mine would pay Scholz’s salary and accommodation.
