Jeremy Ellis was elected as chairman of The International Council on Metals and the Environment (ICME) to replace its founding chairman, Keith Hendrick. Ellis is the chief executive officer of BHP Minerals, based in Melbourne, Australia. Hendrick is chairman of Noranda Minerals.
Established last year, ICME promotes the implementation of sound environmental policies in the mining of non-ferrous and precious metals.
