Highwood to test sodalite deposit

A sodalite deposit in southern Greenland has drawn the interest of Highwood Resources (TSE).

The junior has reached an agreement-in-principle with Mineral Development International A/S of Denmark for a joint assessment of the possibility of producing synthetic zeolite from the sodalite.

Highwood can earn an initial half interest in the project by spending $2.5 million and may increase its interest to 75% on the completion of a feasibility study.

Mineral Development’s exploration licence is adjacent to a licence owned 75% by Highwood and 25% by Platinova A/S (TSE); Platinova has an option to earn a 25% interest in any interest earned by Highwood in the project. Detergent manufacturers are looking at synthetic zeolite as a replacement for phosphate.
