Hemlo Gold renews option on Cripple Creek property

In recent drilling at the Cripple Creek property west of Timmins, Ont., Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE) turned up gold mineralization in an unexplored area.

According to joint-venture partner Gowest Amalgamated Resources (ASE), Hemlo drilled a deep hole to 481.5 metres to test the Mahoney Creek zone. The upper part of Hole CC93-1 yielded intersections which included 1.07 grams over five metres. (0.04 oz. gold per ton over 16.4 ft.) and 5.77 grams across 2.8 metres (0.19 oz. over 9.2 ft.).

Hole CC93-2, collared 300 metres east of the Mahoney Creek intersection, gave no significant values. However, Hole CC93-3, 100 metres east of CC93-1, intersected 3.77 grams over one metre (0.13 oz. over 3.3 ft.). The final hole of the 4-hole program yielded no values of interest, Gowest reported.

Hemlo Gold has renewed its option.
