Greenstone drills two base metal properties

Drilling has commenced on two of Greenstone Resources’ (TSE) main base metal properties in Quebec and British Columbia.

The company has two drills at work on its Scott Lake property, held jointly with Thunderwood Resources (TSE) in the Chibougamau district of northwestern Quebec. Preliminary estimates of reserves on that 61-claim property stand at 770,000 tons grading 6.9% zinc and 0.4% copper. This year’s $600,000 exploration program is designed to expand the known massive sulphide deposit and drill an area of extensive stringer (sulphide) mineralization situated north of the main deposit.

Two drills are also turning on the company’s McNeil Creek property, south of the Sullivan mine in southeastern British Columbia. One drill will test a series of shallow sediment-hosted structures which recently yielded several narrow massive sulphide intersections containing zinc, lead and copper. The second drill will test the contact of the lower and middle Aldridge formations which are associated with the Sullivan mine horizon.

In total, Greenstone says about $1 million will be spent on the two base metal projects during the next two months.
