Golden Marlin has Northwest assays

A Saskatoon, Sask., company Golden Marlin Resources (VSE), says it has received check assays on several samples extracted from its Northwest gold joint venture with Cameco near Yellowknife, N.W.T. Cameco has the right to earn a 51% stake in the property.

According to Marlin, the best original assay was 7.12 grams per tonne gold over a core length of one metre in a moderately sheared mafic volcanic unit.

“From check work, a series of three metallic assays on half the sample rejects returned up to 23.9 grams, according to Golden Marlin which acts as project operator. Five standard assays on the remaining rejects indicated concentrations of 4.19 to 22.52 grams.

Planned for this winter is a follow-up program of which phase one will include detailed ground magnetic work and 800-900 metres of drilling in five holes. Additional work may include geophysics and diamond drilling.
