Ongoing drilling at Goldcorp’s (G-T) mine in Red Lake, Ont., has outlined an additional resource of 300,000 oz. in the lower levels.
Drilling has been concentrated on extending the known mineralized zones between the 30 and 37 levels of the mine. Two drill holes between the 30 and 34 levels cut 4.8 ft. grading 0.42 oz. gold per ton and 8.3 ft. grading 0.39 oz.
Two other holes, drilled into extensions of the main ore structures 300-430 ft. west on the 33 level, intersected sulphide and quartz-vein mineralization. Further drilling is planned in order to assess the continuity of the mineralization between these intersections and the known ore zones.
Several holes drilled between the 34 and 37 levels indicate that mineralization persists down the dip of the known structures to at least the 37 level (5,420 ft.).
