Geological Association to meet in Vancouver

Miners will be especially interested in three conferences: Acid mine drainage — designing for closure; Cordilleran mineral deposits; and structural control of ore deposits.

Field trips are being organized to five porphyry copper deposits and three gold deposits in Chile, to Japan for a study of the country’s regional and economic geology, and to Hawaii for a volcanological excursion.

Registration forms for the conference will be available in the fall. Applications for the field trips will be on a first-come first-serve basis.
