Funds available for granite plant

Ontario government funding totaling $1.2 million has been awarded to Malette Granite of Iroquois Falls to help establish a granite processing plant and to hire and train employees.

A $500,000 term loan is being provided by Northern Ontario Development Corp., a $440,000 term loan is being provided by Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp (NOHFC) and a $50,000 forgivable loan is being provided by NOHFC. Also, jobsOntario is also providing $250,000 to hire and train 25 persons. The Malette Granite plant will be a subsidiary of Malette Monuments Services and will manufacture counter tops, flooring, monuments, blocks and slabs.
