Fatal accident at Rabbit Lake

A worker was killed underground recently after being struck by a truck at the Eagle Point uranium mine on the Rabbit Lake site in northern Saskatchewan.

Cameco (TSE) reports that the man, whose name was not released immediately, died instantly when struck by the truck near the 240-metre level. The deceased worked for Thyssen Mining Construction of Canada, which is mining the deposit under contract.

Rabbit Lake, 700 km north of Saskatoon, is two-thirds owned by Cameco and one-third by Uranerz Exploration & Mining.
