EXPLORATION 1997 — Yamana to test anomalies

Ongoing exploration by Yamana Resources (YRI-T) will test an aeromagnetic anomaly and associated gold mineralization in the northern portion of the company’s Block I contact-of-work (CoW) application, 95 km north of the Busang gold deposit in Indonesia.

Altered and mineralized float was found in the stream bed of a river draining the northern flank of the anomaly, which measures about 4 km long by 1 km wide. Two rock float samples returned values of 1.95 grams gold and 3.5 grams silver per tonne, and 0.94 gram gold and 5.1 grams silver.

Numerous other geophysical anomalies were identified on the company’s six southern CoW applications.
