Eldorado starts La Colorada program

A program aimed at expanding reserves and finding new deposits has begun on Mexico’s La Colorada project.

Operator Eldorado (VSE) is earning a 70% interest in the 13-sq.-mile property from Campbell Resources (TSE) in return for placing it in production. While that work continues, Eldorado hopes to increase reserves and test several areas considered prospective for gold mineralization. The work will include drilling to test known deposits (El Creston, Minas Prietas and Gran Central) at depth and along strike.

Other areas surrounding La Colorada will be explored and a regional program will examine all known gold showings and workings in the district, situated in Sonora state.

Eldorado is also active on two gold projects near Mazatlan and is earning 51% and 60% interests from Almaden Resources (VSE).

Exploration, to include reverse circulation drilling, will begin in September on two projects: La Trinidad and El Encuentro. Eldorado recently staked claims to cover newly discovered gold mineralization near both properties.
