East West expands Timmins project

The Timmins camp of northern Ontario continues to serve as an exploration focus for East West Resource (VSE) and associated company Cross Lake Minerals (VSE).

Cross Lake has a joint venture with Noranda Exploration on the Fox-Stimson base metal prospect in Fox, Stimson and Mortimer twps., with each company contributing on a 50-50 basis to exploration costs.

The 321 claims surround the original 23 claims held by Cross Lake. (The original claims are being explored by Noranda under a separate agreement.) The projects are about 45 miles northeast of the Kidd Creek

zinc-copper-silver mine which has been producing since 1966. More than 20 airborne electro-magnetic conductor targets are on the Fox-Stimson claims. Exploration will involve geophysics, followed by drilling.

Recent prospecting on the Timmins Twp. property, east of Timmins, revealed a sericite schist zone, and an associated silicified-pyritized zone 150-200 metres wide. The felsic (rhyolite) rocks on the property display sodium depletion anomalies. Geophysical work is planned, following the extension of the zones.
