Donalda production rate on rise

The daily production rate at the Donalda gold mine in Rouyn-Noranda, Que., is expected to reach 450 tonnes in September after the seventh-level stopes start producing on a regular basis.

Orco Resources (ME), which began operations on March 25, says grades should be maintained at close to 7 grams per tonne.

The company is preparing new stopes to mine parallel gold veins cutting the sixth and seventh levels. The purpose of the work is to increase reserves, which are currently estimated at 1.2 million tonnes grading 6.1 grams. Orco is mining the deposit under an agreement with property owners Metall Mining (TSE) and Thunderwood Resources (TSE).
