Diadem focuses on base metal play

In Newfoundland, drills are turning on the Pekan River property of Diadem Resources (ME).

The property, which straddles the Quebec-Newfoundland border 50 km south of Wabush, Nfld., covers a copper-nickel-cobalt discovery on a 244-metre-long outcrop. Samples have assayed up to 1.43% copper, 0.72% nickel and 0.04% cobalt.

The mineralized zone is reflected by a strong electromagnetic conductor and a coincidental magnetic high. There are 11 other targets with similar geophysical properties on the property, all of which are covered by overburden.

Diadem has scheduled 1,524 metres of drilling, starting with the original outcrop.
